How we work — New Law
Relationships, not six-minute units.
We take time to understand your business. AI-supported processes help us work more efficiently, so we can spend more time on legal reasoning, practical advice and working with you.
What does New Law mean at Awelle?
For Awelle Legal, New Law means a hands-on, relationship-led approach to legal services for Australian businesses. We do not bill in six-minute units. We agree the work and fees with you and use technology to support, rather than replace, solicitor reasoning. New Law describes our approach, not a certification or a claim that every other firm works the same way.
Understand your business first
We start by listening: how your business operates, what you are trying to achieve and where the practical pressures lie. Your commercial priorities and the context behind your documents help shape the legal work. We work with you to understand the issue, not just the paperwork.
Agree scope and fees
Before legal work begins, Awelle Legal confirms the engagement, scope and fees with you. The agreement sets out what is included and any limits. If your needs change or extra work is needed, we discuss and agree that work and its fees before proceeding. No six-minute billing does not mean unlimited advice or a fixed fee for every matter.
Work together, beyond a single document
We aim to build ongoing relationships, so advice reflects your business as it develops. You bring the business knowledge and instructions; your solicitor brings legal reasoning and practical advice within the agreed engagement. Ongoing support, its scope and any allowances must be agreed—not assumed from a platform subscription.
AI supports the process. Your solicitor does the reasoning.
AI-supported processes help with the work around legal advice, freeing more time for understanding your situation and considering the legal issues. They do not replace the solicitor’s professional judgement. The Awelle platform is separate from an Awelle Legal engagement: platform output is not automatically reviewed by a solicitor and is not individual legal advice.
Questions about working with us
Does Awelle bill in six-minute units?
No. Awelle Legal does not bill in six-minute units. Scope and fees are agreed for your engagement. This does not promise unlimited advice or a universal fixed-fee arrangement.
How are fees and extra work agreed?
Awelle Legal confirms the scope and fees before legal work begins. If work falls outside that scope, we discuss and agree the additional work and fees with you before proceeding. Your engagement agreement governs the services and limits.
Does AI replace my solicitor?
No. AI supports processes; the solicitor provides legal reasoning and advice under the agreed engagement. Using the platform does not mean a solicitor has reviewed every output.
Does platform signup establish a solicitor-client relationship?
No. Registering for or subscribing to the Awelle platform does not establish a solicitor-client relationship with Awelle Legal. Legal services require a separate agreed engagement. An appointment request alone is not an engagement or legal advice.
